This large, multi-level layout is a point-to-point branch line railroad set in the California “Mother Lode Country” in the early 1950s. The Sierra railroad connects the Hetch Hetchy, West Side Logging Company and Pickering Lumber Company railroads with the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe railroads at Oakland, California to serve the local industries from the valley to the mountains. This classic layout has been in continuous dispatched weekly operation since the 1980’s and has over 500 feet of mainline with branch lines on two levels.
